July 1945ORLA G. ANDREW
Orla G Andrew, son of Jonathan and Olive Andrew, was born in Jewell County, Kansas, December 5, 1886. When young he came with his parents to live in Dallas and Madison Counties, Iowa, where Orla attended the Redfield and Earlham Schools.
On February 16, 1910, he was married to Miss Ella Fritsen of Earlham, where they celebrated last February, their 35th wedding anniversary. Three children were born to this union, Clarence Dale who has been in the United States Navy the past twelve years, now Ens. on a troop transport ship, near Okinawa in the Pacific area; Audrie Princell, who, when but sixteen years of age, entered the Heavenly realms, February 2, 1931; Robert LeRoy, now Sgt. in the United States Army, stationed on Okinawa.
Survivors, besides Mrs. Andrew and the two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Clarence Andrew, are: one brother, Arthur, of Sugar City, Colorado; three sisters: Mrs. Melva Maxson of Pomona, California; Mrs. Lottie Nolte of Earlham; Mrs. Inez Hoskins, Pomona, California.
In the first years following marriage, Orla engaged in farming, but he moved into Earlham about twenty years ago. Here he was employed by Hunter Brothers and by the Earlham School board as custodian for the public school. Because of his love for children, Orla enjoyed this work until over a year ago when a heart ailment developed from which he did not recover. After three weeks in the Methodist Hospital, Des Moines, he joined the Union Eternal with parents, the daughter and other relatives and friends, Sunday, July 15, 1945, at the age of 58 years, seven months and ten days.
