Winterset Madisonian - June 18, 1997

Patrick Henry (Hank) Morrissey, 84, of Winterset, died of cancer June 15, 1997, at the Winterset Care Center South. Memorial services will be held today, June 18 at 2 p.m. at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset. The Rev. Robert D. Cook will officiate and burial of the cremains will follow at the Winterset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

He was born in Madison County on March 8, 1913 to Patrick Edmund and Katherine Anna (Bruns) Morrissey. He married Lucile Spillers in Waukee on February 1, 1939. He worked for Morrissey Truck Lines and later, retired from the lumber business. He was a member of the Iowa Lumberman's Association for thirty years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Surviving relatives include his wife; one daughter, Beverly Kile and husband Richard of Des Moines; one son, Larry Morrissey and wife Phyllis of Indianapolis, Ind.; four sisters, Cecilia Bridenstine and Dorothy Hochstetler, both of Winterset, Marguerite Herrick of Indianola, and Ruth Klemm of Sun City, Ariz., and two grandchildren.

Memorials donations may be directed to the Middle River Hospice.
