Mrs. Ray Vanatta of Peru Succumbs

Mrs. Ray Vanatta, well known Madison county resident, died at her home in Walnut township, Tuesday noon, July 26th, 1938, following an extended illness. Mrs. Vanatta, who was the former Helen Frey, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Frey of Crawford township. She was 38 years of age, and had been in poor health for the past four years. She was born in Madison County, May 7, 1900.

Mrs. Vanatta was a graduae of the Winterset high school with the class of 1918. Her marriage to Mr. Vanatta was solemnized ten years ago, and they have since made their home in Walnut township. She leaves her husband and their two daughters, Dorothy, aged 7 and Mary Lou aged 4. She is also survived by her parents, and one sister and six brothers; Mrs. Guy Fogler of Patterson, Homer of Scott township, Arthur of Chicago, Lester of Stuart, Earl of Des Moines, Harold of Winterset, and Glen Frey at home.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the Methodist Church at Peru in charge of the pastor, the Rev. I.G. Wilkins. Burial will be made in the Peru cemetery.
