OBITUARY

Frank Alexander, son of John and Mary Alexander was born in Greencastle, Pennsylvania, December 19, 1870 and died from some unknown cause at Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, December 13, 1929, his age being 59 years, 11 months and 24 days.

He came with his parents to Des Moines, Iowa, when a small boy, and later moved to Earlham, where he made his home until the time of his death.

In 1890 he was married to Della Robinson and to this union two children were born, one of which a little boy, died in infancy. His daughter Grace married and is now living in Galesburg, Illinois.

In 1898 he enlisted for service in the Spanish American War, and saw active service in the Philippine Islands until the close of the war. He was a good soldier and loyal whenever duty called. He leaves to mourn his loss three sisters and two brothers.

His sisters are; Mrs. Edith Irvin and Mrs. Mary Duff, of Earlham, and Mrs. Katherine Canfield, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His brothers are Albert Alexander, of Dow City, Iowa, and Addison Alexander, of Des Moines, Iowa.

Frank Alexander in all of his business relationships of life was honest and upright. He was kindhearted and neighborly, and intelligent, above the average. He was a good workman and always gave good measure to his employer.

His failures were tempered with goodness and his would be friends often times proved his worst enemies. In his experiences of life he knew the good. Those who knew him best prized most his worth.

Back from the tomb his life calls now in silence;
"Don;t wait to do tomorrow, what you should do today."
God calls to all " Be Ready," for:
"The leaves of the oak, and the willow shall fade,
Be scattered around and together be laid,
And the young, and the old and the low and the high
Shall moulder to dust, and together shall lie."
