Virginia M. (Peed) Smith, 76, of Sacramento,Calif., died July 21,1994 at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. Burial was July 29, 1994 at the Winterset Cemetery with the Rev. Donald Frank officiating.

She was born Nov. 4, 1917 in Douglas Township, Madison County, to Roy and Grace(Prall)Peed. She graduated from Winterset High School in 1936. In 1960 she married Robert S. Smith Jr. in Riverside Calif. and after he retired from the Air Force, the couple made their home in Sacramento, Calif. She was employed by the federal government for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
