Margaret (Peg) Wheeler, Winterset

Services for Margaret (Peg) Wheeler, 76, Winterset who died Dec. 5, 1989, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, were held Sat. Dec. 9, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clarence and Rev. Zona Lautt officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Mrs. Wheeler was a retired Clerk of Court for Madison County. Born in Oskaloosa on April 26,1913. She was the daughter of John and Gunda Lovvig Peterson. She married Wallace (Chet) Wheeler on June 3, 1937 at Des Moines.

A resident here for 41 years, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a life member of the Madison County Historical Society and a member of numerous other local clubs and organizations.

Survivors include daughters, Judy LeCocq of Plano, Texas, and Sue Libby of Indianola;four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
