Dora Hulbert, Winterset

Dora Hulbert, 94, of Winterset died of complications of diabetes on Nov. 21, 1996 at Community Care of Winterset. Funeral services were Nov. 25 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The Rev. Jonathan Gaul officiated the services and burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born in Madison County on Oct. 25, 1902 to Charles and Grace (DeBord) Hermon. She married W.A. (Bill) Hulbert on March 15, 1923 in Des Moines. She was a homemaker and a retired telephone operator. She was a lifetime resident of Madison County.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son; three brothers; and four sisters.

Surviving relatives include three daughters, Marjorie Weeks and husband Russell of Winterset, Amanda Wren and husband Jim of Des Moines, and Mary Lou Foley and husband Denzil of Peru; one sister, Mary Rhodes of Winterset; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
