Pauline Welty Barnhart, 84, died July 20, 2000, at Crestview Care and Rehab Center in West Branch. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 25, at West Branch United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scot Patrick officiating. Burial was at the West Branch Cemetery.
Pauline Barnhart was born Jan.15, 1916, in Madison County to Nelson and Hulda Haupt Welty. She graduated from Macksburg High School and resided in Winterset before moving to West Branch in 1943. She married Ivan Curtis Barnhart on Sept. 6, 1947. Several years following Ivan's death in 1970, she moved to the Cookson Retirement Home, West Branch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son and four brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Gwen Kessler, husband Michael, of West Liberty and Connie Meyer of Cedar Rapids;a son, David Barnhart of Iowa City a sister-in-law, Mary Welty Hart of Winterset, and five grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Barker Funeral Home of West Branch.
