MORTUARY - Mrs. Edith Jackson

Edith Pearl Fleener was born on May 16,1878 in Madison county, Iowa, and died at her home west of Winterset Feb. 19, 1917, aged 38 years, 9 months and 3 days.

She was married to William Fredrick Jackson Sept. 7, 1904. Six children to this union were born, five sons and one daughter: Loron Wilfred, age 11 years; Elenor Louise, age 8 years; George Thomas, age 6 years; Francis Everett, age 5 years; William Embree, aged 3 years; John Russell age 1 year.

Besides her husband and children, she leaves a father, three half brothers and one half sister, besides many friends and relatives.

Her mother died when she was one year and ten months old. From that time to the time of her marriage, she made her home with her grandparents and with the assistance of her Uncle Thomas, she was ever faithful in caring for and administering to their needs and comfort during their declining years.

For the past three years she has been a continual sufferer from the effects of a paralytic stroke, which left her almost helpless during this long period of affliction.

In her girlhood days, she and her grandfather united with the Baptist church of Winterset, of which they were faithful in attendance. During later years, her family cares and afflictions seemed to have deprived her of those privileges and blessings, which in early days she so greatly enjoyed. We resign her to Him, who does all things well.
