December 2005Lorraine Martin, 101, of Winterset died Nov. 30, 2005 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 3, at the First Christian church in Winterset with Pastor Rich Koster officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Lorraine Martin was born Dec. 26, 1903, in Winterset to Herman Edgar and Josephine (Groves) Kirby and graduated from Winterset High School in 1922. On June 23, 1926, she married Rex Rollstin Martin in Yankton, S.D. A homemaker, Lorraine was a lifetime resident of Winterset. She also was a member of the Tri-L Club and the First Christian Church in Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Robert Kirby; and three sisters, Josephine Klingman, Evelyn McBride and Mary Hein.
She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Levitt of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mary Jo Pahs of Denver, Colo.; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Christian Church. Funeral were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
