The expression "Death loves a shining mark" was seemingly verified in the death of Edwin Fremont, infant son of Will and Goldie Johnson, who passed away Friday morning, Sept. 29, 1911, after a brief illness of a few days, aged seven months and one day. The deah of this babe has been felt as something of a personal loss by many friends of the family throughout the community. The child was peculiarly bright and attractive and easily won the affection of all who came into his presence. Following so closely upon the death of Don, their other child, this present sorrow comes to these grieving hearts with especial severity. The funeral service was held in the Church of Christ at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, conducted by Rev. L. F. Davis, assisted by Rev. E. F. Leake of Newton. Interment was made in Rock City cemetery.

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Will C. Johnson has been darkened by sorrow, death claiming their baby, Edwin Fremont, aged seven months. The little one was ill less than a week and his death is the second great sorrow that has come to their home. The community feels the deepest sympathy for the bereaved parents.
