Isaac Bird, who came to this county in 1851 and lived in Walnut township, but lately at Council Bluffs, died at the latter place on the 17th. He was aged ninety-four years, ten months and two days. He was buried at Peru beside his wife. He was the father of Mrs. William Brinson, of this city.

East Peru

On Wednesday afternoon the funeral of Isaac Bird was held at the M. E. church. The convention there in session suspended business long enough to allow the sad rites. The funeral sermon was preched by Rev. Williams, of Winterset, assisted by L. H. Creger. Mr. John Kirk, of Council Bluffs, and Mr. and Mrs. Brinson, of Winterset were present.
