"Floda Pearl Emerson, Winterset -- Services for Floda Pearl Emerson, 98, Winterset, who died Dec. 24 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital, were held Dec. 28 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Zona Lautt officiating. Burial was at the Peru Cemetery. Born at Peru Jan. 27, 1887, she was the daughter of Lyman and Julia Powell DeLong. She was a resident of the area most of her life and was a member of the Peru Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star. On Feb. 15, 1905 she was married to Earl Emerson at Peru. Survivors include a son, Lyman Rex Emerson of Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Irene Beverlin of Peru; a brother, Lawrence DeLong of Winterset; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, an infant son and a brother.
