YUBA CITY, Calif. – Alva A. Shepherd, 69, formerly of Ogden, died July 4 in Yuba City after and extended illness.

Mr. Shepherd resided in Ogden 14 years before moving to Yuba City 10 years ago. He has worked as a carpenter.

He was born in October, 1886, in Iowa, a son of William Jason and Martha Emily Hartman Shepherd.

Surviving are two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Pauline Stevenson, Yuba City; Mrs. Lenora Crane, Tulsa, Okla.; Henry A. Shepherd, Watsonville, Calif.; John Shepherd, Sacramento, Calif.; two sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Lillie Roberts, Modesto, Calif.; Mrs. Olive Ede, Pittsburg, Kan.; Thomas Shepherd, Ogden; Paul Shepherd, Clearfield; Eli Shepherd, Martinez, Calif.

Funeral services were conducted in Yuba City.
