Forty Years Ago (Sept. 14, 1881)

Death entered the household of Dr. Sayers of Peru, last week, taking away their only child.

Transcriber's note: Per her Madison County Death Record, she died September 6th, age 2 days at Peru. Burial place was not specified. Correct surname taken from parent's gravestone. The Death Record says "Laura" but her Birth Record says "Launice". The had another daughter in 1885 named "Laura" who survived to adulthood.
