MORTUARY - Minerva Ruttie Smith

Minerva Ruttie was born in Madison county, Iowa, November 9, 1861 and departed this life April 6, 1918, aged 56 years, 4 months and 28 days.

She was united in marriage to Thomas J. Smith January 17, 1876. To this union were born eleven children, Mrs Robert Hudson, Mrs. Roy Storrs and Mrs. Calmar Storrs, All of Winterset. Mrs. J. B. Reader of Afton, Burt Smith of Creston, Homer of Curtis, Nebraska and Jay of Wecta, South Dakota. Two half-sisters and one sister still survive her.

She believed in practicing the Golden Rule, was a kind woman greatly loved by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at half past ten in the Christian church, with Rev. W. A. Stewart officiating, followed by burial in the Winterset Cemetery.
