Barbara Jean Noack was born the daughter of Eugene and Frances (Fleener) Schleiffarth on August 27, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa, and died at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa on November 11, 2009 at the age of 55 years, 2 months and 15 days.

Barbara received her education in the Winterset Schools. Barbara worked for 30 years as a certified nurse’s assistant in various local nursing homes. Due to her health she was forced to retire in 2007. Barbara loved to shop for her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with family and loved to cook for them, especially her “chicken and noodles”. She also loved to go out to eat.

Barbara leaves the following family to celebrate her life; father Gene Schleiffarth and wife Karen of Earlham; daughter Penny Meyerhoff and husband Sean of Panora; son Ron Wine and wife Stephanie of Redfield; half-sisters Patricia Swan and husband Mark of Earlham and Mellissa Dory of Earlham; grandchildren Madison Hopkins of Panora and Brock Wine of Redfield.

A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 16 at Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham. Pastor Kyle Dredge of Redfield officiated. Special music was “Amazing Grace” and Grandpa, Tell Me About the Good Old Days”.

Private interment of cremains will be at a later date.
