Gerald D. Cameron, age 84, of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on November 17th, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones.

Gerald Cameron was born in Winterset, Iowa to parents Marion R. & Opal Cameron on September 5th, 1939, where he grew up on the family farm with his sister Marjorie. During his high school years, Gerald participated in a men’s quartet, singing at competitions, weddings and other civic events. On April 22nd, 1960, Gerald married his high school sweetheart Jill Beverlin in Winterset, Iowa, where they started their lives together. Over the years Gerald’s career took the family to Des Moines, Iowa, Xenia, Ohio, Bismarck, North Dakota, Anniston, Alabama, and finally to Fargo.

After graduating from the American Institute of Business in Des Moines and some time at Iowa State University in Ames. Gerald, an accountant by trade, started his career with Bankers Life in Des Moines and moved on to Supervalu, where he spent 30+ years. Gerald enjoyed western movies (John Wayne), working in the yard and spending time with his family.

Gerald and his family were members of the Methodist Church and were always able to find peace and refuge there, no matter where they were.

Gerald is survived by his son David (Shirley) Cameron, daughter Julie (Kerry) Briss; grandchildren, Emilee Briss and Howie Briss and nephew Dennis (Judith) Macdonald. Gerald is preceded in death by his wife Jill, parents Marion R. & Opal Cameron, his sister Marjorie M. Macdonald, nephew Larry R. Macdonald and his grandson William Kerry Briss.

In honor of Gerald's wishes, there will be no services. Gerald will be interned with his wife Jill in Peru, Iowa. His family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or a charity of your choosing.
