Page 1, Column 3LORIMOR RESIDENT DEAD AT AGE OF 80
Riley C. Toland, resident of Madison county for 30 years, died Wednesday, July 12, at the home of his son, Owen Toland of near Lorimor, following an illness lasting several months. He was almost 89 years old. Funeral services were held at the Watts funeral home in Lorimor on Wednesday, July 12, conducted by Rev. J. E. Englund. Interment was in Mt. Aetna cemetery near Corning.
Riley Corneilius Toland, son of Owen and Luisa Toland, was born in Moline, Illinois, on August 8, 1855. He married Clara Ann Foster of Wilton, Iowa, on March 7, 1882 and to them were born six children. One daughter, Wilma, died at the age of 17 years and Della, another daughter, died in infancy. His wife preceded him in death on December 25, 1916.
He has lived in Madison county for the past 30 years and recently made his home with his son, Owen.
Is survived by four children, C. R. Toland of Wapata, Washington, Owen Toland Lorimor, Mabel Toland of Stella, Nebr., and Mrs. Bess Hill of Greenfield.
