David Abel

David Abel, of Madison county, died at his home on Tuesday, April 25, at the age of 83 years. Funeral services were held at the Anderson Funeral Home here on Thursday afternoon, April 28, and burial was at Polk City, Iowa.

David Abel, son of Henry and Elizabeth Abel, was born in 1861 near Hedrick, Iowa. He was married to Catherine Crum of Polk City, in September 1894, and to them were born four children.

He joined the Christian church in Lorimor in 1913. His wife preceded him in death on April 28, 1928.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Florence Shiffer of Winterset, Mrs. Beatrice McDonnell of Creston, and Mrs. Beulah Iiams of near Thayer; one son, Earl Abel of near Lorimor, one brother and eight grandchildren.
