After a lingering illness of tuberculosis, Mrs. Edith Weaver, wife of Thomas Weaver passed away at her home in Peru, Iowa, on Thursday, December 11, at the age of twenty-five years, ten months and nine days.
Funeral services were held at the M. E. church at Peru at 10 o’clock Friday morning and the body was brought to Osceola that afternoon and laid to rest in Maple Hill cemetery, the services at the grave being conducted by the Rev. Mr. Cole of the Christian church.
Mrs. Weaver’s maiden name was Sanders. She was the daughter of Abisha and Phoebe Sanders, was born and grew to womanhood in Clarke county.
She was married to Thomas Weaver June 28, 1911. To them was born a son, Wayne, now twenty months old. Mrs. Weaver was a member of the Christian church.
Besides husband and son she leaves three sisters: Mrs. Reizenstein, Mrs. Minnie Hall and Mrs. R. I. Mitchell of this city; and five brothers, Bert, Vern and Clinton Sanders of this county; Ora of Hale Center, Texas and Orin of Othello, Washington.
