FORMER RESIDENT SUCCUMBS IN CALIF.

Word was received here by friends of the death of Bert James, former resident of Winterset. He was 68 years of age.

He made his home in Sunnyside, Wash., but died at El Monte, Calif. He is survived by his wife and four children.

He returned to Madison county two years ago, and visited at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kellogg and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kellogg.
