On Saturday afternoon, and upon the adjournment of the Post Meeting, a procession of ex-soldiers, members of the W.R.C. and friends who took the headstones which had been procured for unmarked graves, repaired to the cemetery and in an impressive manner, proceeded to erect them at the graves of....Patrick Mooney, U.S. Navy. The last named came to St. Charles an entire stranger, soon became sick and in a few days a corpse. He was kindly nursed, treated, cared for and respectably buried by the ex-soldiers who only needed to know that he had served under the old flag.
