Craig S. Green

Craig S. Green, beloved son, father, brother, and craftsman, passed away on June 15, 2023, at UnityPoint Health-Iowa Methodist in Des Moines. He was 43 years old. Born and raised in Omaha, Craig was the son of Kurt Green and Julie Doran. As a craftsman, he dedicated his skills to creating beautiful cabinets for MFI of Winterset. His craftsmanship was admired by many.

Craig spent ten years in Colorado, where he honed his skills and expanded his passion for his craft. Five years ago, he made the decision to move to Winterset, where he continued his work and became an integral part of the community.

Craig is survived by his mother, Julie Dolezal, and stepfather, Preston of Van Meter. He will be forever remembered and cherished by his sons, Kurt Green and Aiden Green, as well as his daughters, Dasha Asplin and Liliana Green. Their lives were touched by Craig's love, guidance, and unwavering support.

He is also survived by his brothers, Paul Hinsley and John Hinsley, who shared both memorable and challenging moments with him throughout their lives. Craig's legacy will live on through his two granddaughters, who brought immeasurable joy and happiness. Craig was preceded in death by his father, Kurt Green.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Craig's life and share cherished memories in a memorial service that will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at the Van Meter United Methodist Church in Van Meter with a luncheon to follow. Memorials may be directed to the family for a future designation.

Craig's passing had a profound impact on the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy that extended far beyond his time with us. His selfless choice to be an organ donor transformed his tragic loss into a beacon of hope and renewed life for those in need. May he rest in peace and may his family find solace in the memories they shared together during his too-short but impactful life.
