She came to Clarke county, Iowa with her parents when she was six years old. She was united in marriage to John Myers, February 28, 1867, and on March 1, 1868, moved to her present home where she had resided for almost 67 years.

Mr. Myers passed away June 8, 1931. To this union were born seventeen children, ten of whom reached the age of maturity. The children are Mrs. Kate DuBois of Centerville, South Dakota; Mrs. Lula Spick of Bozeman, Montana; Mrs. Nellie Bierma of Madrid, Nebraska; Tone Myers of Clarinda, Iowa; Mrs. Minnie Keys and Burt Myers of Murray, Iowa; Floyd Myers, of Peru, Iowa; Mrs. Zelma Phillips of Truro, Iowa. Mrs. Myers had been failing and health for several months and was almost blind, but was always patient and cheerful. She came to the home of her youngest daughter five weeks ago where she has been patiently and tenderly cared for and everything was done to make her comfortable. She closed her tired eyes and slept peacefully away.

She accepted Christ as her Savior in early girlhood and was always glad to attend the church services whenever possible. She joined Union church when a girl.

She lived a good and useful life, she was a loving wife, a good mother, and was faithful to every trust reposed to her. She loved to have her friends around her and she was never happier than when she was administering to the wants of others, and helping someone in her kind way.

She leaves to mourn her passing eight children, twenty-nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and a host of dear friends. (Poem follows).
