Tuesday, March 21, 2023Dale Dean Bennett, 80, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on 12/17/2022 in Mesa.
Dale was born on June 15, 1942, in Winterset, Iowa, to Harry Ward & Helen (Kaufman) Bennett. Dale attended Des Moines Public Schools, and graduated from Tech High School in 1960, and joined the Marine Corps and was in the Marines until his retirement in August 1969.
Dale married Barbara Howe on October 20, 1962, in Des Moines, Iowa. He moved his family to Mesa Arizona in June 1979. He drove truck in Iowa at All American Trucking, and drove in Arizona at Dillards until his retirement. After retiring, he volunteered at Mana Food Bank/Stuff Thrift Store in Mesa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; George, Robert, Max, Vernon, Richard, Raymond & Kenneth. His sisters; Joy(Bricker), Connie(Storms), Leona(Henry), Virginia Joan Bennett, Phyllis(Carter), various nieces & nephews.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of 60 years, sons; Greg & Chris(Gwen), and daughter Amy(Shafer), four precious grand children: Felicia Bennett, Miranda Emter(Andrew), Daniel & Rebecca Shafer, his sister Beverly(Barry), over 45 nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed car racing, and baseball games, and volunteering at the food bank, but mostly spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Services was at 10:30 on the morning of February 24th, at the National Military Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona.
