Winterset, IowaRonnie Addy, 85, of Winterset, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2023, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 4, at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be held in the Winterset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ronnie’s name may be directed to EveryStep Hospice, Winterset office. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at caldwellparrish.com.
Ronald Duane Addy was born in Madison County, Iowa on November 26, 1937 to Dwight and Vernal (Severns) Addy. He graduated from Winterset High School in 1956 and was in the Air Force National Guard for 10 years. He married Shirley Keesey and to this union two children were born, Kelly and Lynn.
Ronnie was a truck driver, delivering oxygen tanks for Brittain’s Standard Parts in Winterset for many years. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Winterset, the Winterset American Legion Post #184, and was a retired member of the Winterset Fire Department. He enjoyed golfing, listening to old-time country music and dancing.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Kelly (Stacie) Addy of Kingman, AZ; daughter, Lynn (Randy) Breakenridge of Winterset; 6 grandchildren, Jenny, Tara, Jared, Kylee, Tommy, and Alexis; and 6 great-grandchildren, Hailley, Daysen, Sawyer, Beckett, Charla, and GraceRyan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight and Vernal (Severns) Addy; and brother, Eugene Addy.
