Betty Mae (Libby) Stephenson was born on July 11, 1932 in Madison County, Iowa to Albert “Bert” and Mae (Preston) Libby. She was married to Glenn Stephenson on March 18, 1950 in Winterset. Betty was a member at the Peru United Methodist Church, part of the Chit-Chat Club, and the VFW Auxiliary. She was a lifelong farm wife, helping Glenn on the family farm. On occasion, she worked in Winterset at the Ben Franklin store during the busy Christmas season.

Betty enjoyed traveling with Glenn. The two wintered in Arizona many times and would often go and visit friends in California and Nevada. She liked to tend to her garden every summer, work on Circle-A-Word books and later picked up coloring in color books. Betty loved the color red and wore it whenever she could.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Patty Rynearson; sons, Tony (Susan) Stephenson and Dan (Julie) Stephenson; twelve grandchildren, Reese (Sarah) Millsap, Lance (Lindsey) Millsap, Brandy (Matt) Decker, Brina (JR) Tolley, Chad Stephenson, Travis (Juanah) Stephenson, Josh (Heidi) Stephenson, Jesse (Mish) Rynearson, Cori (David) McKinzey, Stacey (Matt) Wedemeyer, Luke (Jessica) Worrall, and Joe Worrall; thirty-two great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild with 3 more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; her parents; brothers, Francis and Harold; sisters, Mary, Inez, Ruth, and Ella; son-in-law, Jim Rynearson; and grandchildren, Bradley Stephenson, Cole Millsap, and Dustin Millsap.
