Clarence Stiffler

Clarence R. Stiffler, who grew to manhood in Winterset, died at his home in Crisson, Pennsylvania. He was the son of John and Catharine Stiffler who were residents of Winterset many years and who died here.

“Cal” Stiffler left Winterset when a young man and went back to Pennsylvania where he was born. He was many years a passenger conductor on the Pennsylvania road. He will be remembered by many of the old Winterset residents.

Only three of the large Stiffler family, who lived here at one time survive him, Rev. Madison Stiffler, of Nebraska; Edward K. Stiffler, a railroad man in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Mary Wisegarver, of Manheim, Pennsylvania.
