Body Discovered by Hunters in Timber Near K. and W. Ry. Crossing
The body of Ed Duff, a stock buyer of Bevington, was discovered by two men from Des Moines, in a timber tract near the Middle River railroad bridge just south of Yaggy. Duff left his home in Bevington last Thursday, and an inquiry on the part of his family failed to locate him.
As soon as the body was discovered, the Warren county authorities were notified, and an inquest held. The coroner’s jury decided that no violence had been done, that death was due to either heart failure or exposure, and that the body had been lying several days before discovered.
He was a man of about 43 years of age, and leaves six children, the youngest nine, and the eldest seventeen years of age. He had been ailing with heart failure for some time past, and it is generally supposed that he either died from one of these attacks or wandered off and died from exposure. He was a big hearted fellow, well liked by his fellow citizens, but unfortunately, addicted to drink.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow, and burial at Calvary cemetery at Churchville.
