Thomas McKeon, an old and respected resident of Lee township, died on Saturday, May 25, of cancer, after a long and painful illness.

Bevington

Thos. McCune, who has suffered from cancer of the face the past year, died at the home of his son, James, on Saturday of last week. His remains were taken to Des Moines and the funeral services held in St. John's Catholic church and burial in the St. Ambrose cemetery on Monday. Mr. McCune was 93 years of age and leaves two sons and five, daughters to mourn his loss.

Transcriber's note: In the 1885 census, two 1890s Madison County marriages, and his gravestone, the surname was spelled "McKeon". Sons James and Thomas have California Death Index records with "McCune" as their surname.
