Norwalk - Sheryl Dee Glassell, age 64, peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be on April 30th, 2022 at 10 am at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church at Irish Settlement, Cumming, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 9 am until service time.

Sheryl was born February 19, 1957, to Rosemary (Kane) and William Glassell. She graduated from Guthrie Center High School in 1975 and from Allen College in 2011 with a Master of Science in Nursing/Nurse Practitioner. She worked in Mankato, MN, specializing in Nephrology. She was very proud of her Nurse Practitioner license and her work at the hospital. She found her work family in Mankato.

Sheryl loved the Cubs, the Bears, Longaberger baskets, and Isabel Bloom. Her favorite times were spent going to Thirst Thursdays with her Des Moines crew and talking with friends on the phone or spending time with them. There were many times when all you needed to say was hello and goodbye, and Sheryl provided the rest of the conversation.

In Mankato, she was involved with Catholic Charities Diocese of Winona, National Kinney Foundation and Wounded Warriors, and with the National Kidney Foundation and Wounded Warriors in Des Moines.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents, William, and Rosemary Glassell.

She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings, Richard (Laura) Glassell of Hixson, TN, Randall (Pat) Glassell of Prole, IA, Denise Tomlinson of Des Moines, IA, James (Krystel) Glassell of Fort Dodge, IA and John (Kathleen) Glassell of Oldsmar, FL; nine nieces and nephews and eight great- nieces and nephews.
