LaVaun Griffiths

ADEL-A funeral for LaVaun Griffiths, 72, of Adel was held June 7, 1993 at Fisher Funeral Home at Adel, with burial following at Oakdale Cemetery, also at Adel. Mrs. Griffiths died of cancer at her home of June 4.

The daughter of Emil and Elsie Zieman, she was born at Earlham on Jan. 14, 1921. She married Jim Griffiths at Adel on Sept. 2, 1946. She lived most of her life in Adel and was a retired bookkeeper for Brenton Bank and Trust Co. in Adel. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Adel.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Jim; a daughter, Jackie Orton of Adel; a sister, Virginia Myers of Indianola; and three grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of Central Iowa.
