Graveside services for Wendell Henry See, 62, and his wife, Wilma Lucille See, 64, rural Peru, who died Nov. 19, were held Friday, Nov. 23, at the Peru Cemetery with the Rev. Janne Clinton officiating.
The couple's death at their residence was ruled a murder-suicide by the state medical examiner.
Mrs. See was born in Adair County on June 25, 1920, the daughter of Eddis and Christina Maury Dunbar. She attended Casey schools and Iowa State Teacher's College and was a school teacher in Madison and Adair counties from 1940 to 1942. She spent most of her lifetime as a homemaker and helped on the farm for 42 years.
Mrs. See was a member of the Woman's Society of United Methodist Church at Peru.
Survivors include a son, Alan and wife Vicky of Waterloo; a sister, Zelpha Walk of Des Moines; and a grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mr. See was born Jan. 30, 1922 at Peru, the son of Burl and Cecil Brown See. He attended Peru schools. He and his wife were married March 10, 1942 in Madison County.
He was a lifetime resident and farmer of Madison County and was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Winterset and the Peru Methodist Church.
Survivors include his son; a sister, Phyllis Woodman and husband Bill of Winterset, and Marjorie Datwyer and husband Wilson of Peru; and his grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
