Chris was born on September 24, 1970 in Council Bluffs, IA to Keith and Linda (Childers) Pleake. He graduated from Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln High School in 1989 and went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from Peru State University in 1995. He married Tisha Stephens in Council Bluffs on May 25, 1995. Over the years he worked in the medical field installing x-ray machines. Chris was a father not only to his biological children, but to many others over the years.

Chris was always known to be reliable, strong, and someone everyone respected. He spent a lot of time cooking, serving and spending time with the people he loved. He loved to cook and always made sure everyone was well fed. Besides cooking, he was also a good baker. He never had to set a timer to know when the cookies were ready to be taken out of the oven. All he had to do was smell them.

Chris was a very smart man. So smart, that if he didn’t know something, he would admit it, but would search out the answer so he would know it the next time. He also loved being outdoors, especially on or near the lake. Fishing and hunting were some of his favorite things to do. He would take everyone on a yearly family reunion to Little Sioux National Park that all family attended. Chris loved everyone, but especially his kids and grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Linda; grandson, Adrian; and many loving extended family.

Chris is survived by his wife, Tisha; children, Kay-Lynn, Randy, Emma, Zander, Janna, and Clair Pleake, Skylar (Tyler) Sanders, Daniel (Cortni) Ramirez, Michael Genung, Britni Rinard, Rianna Roose, Zach Gillum and Dallys Roberts; brothers, Scott (Kathy) Pleake, John (Bridgette) Pleake, Travis Underwood, Nathan (Hayley) Underwood and Matt Underwood; sisters, Ellen (Wade) Joyce and Julie (Ryan) Cates; grandchildren, Mia, Wesley, Eli, Alice, Bentley, DeLaney, Spencer and GraceLynn; and many extended family and friends.
