Cindy Aukes

Cindy (Schwabe) Clark Aukes, 64, of Winterset, passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2022.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel with visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place in the McDonald Chase Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the family’s tribute fund at caldwellparrish.com to help with burial expenses.

Cindy was born on November 12, 1957 to Earl “Bud” and Geraldine (Parkinson) Schwabe in Winterset, Iowa. She attended Winterset Schools growing up. Cindy married Scott Aukes on April 2, 1993 at the Winterset Nazarene Church. In 2005 the two renewed their vows after Scott’s military deployment to Iraq. Over the years, she worked as a cook and waitress for many restaurants in town.

Cindy enjoyed going 4 wheeling/mudding in the truck and would often times take Scott with her. She was an excellent baker and crafter. Cindy’s heart was always full of love and she wore her heart on her sleeve. She had an open door policy and would take in anyone who needed a place to stay or a meal to eat. She was a caring person who loved her family more than anything else, especially her grandkids.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Scott; daughters, Tammy Clark and Tanya (Michael) Clark; brothers, Glenn Schwabe and
Dennis Schwabe; 9 grandchildren, Haylee, Xander, Payten, Avaya, Temperence, Zaria, Draven, Mason and Spencer; and her dog, Dominic.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Geraldine; and brother, Rick Schwabe.
