MADRID, IA.

Vance E. Blosser, 84, of Madrid died Monday of complications following surgery at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ. The body has been cremated and interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Blosser was born in Patterson and had lived in Des Moines most of his life before moving to Madrid. He retired as a supervisor from Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Des Moines in 1964. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; a son, Robert of Ankeny; a daughter, Jane Carpenter of Ankeny; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid is handling arrangements.
