Thelma Frank
Clive, Iowa

Thelma was born to Elizabeth and Earl Knott on November 28th, 1922 in St. Charles, Iowa. She passed away peacefully on January 3rd, 2022 with family at her side.

She married Doyle Eugene Frank on December 23rd, 1942. They had three children: Carolyn Ann, Mary Beth, and Steven Doyle.

They lived most of their married life in Winterset. Thelma worked as a bookkeeper at Madison County Hospital until her retirement in 1976.

Before and after retirement, Thelma spent many hours volunteering at the local nursing homes and the Winterset Historical Society. She and Doyle were members of the First Christian Church and served it faithfully.

Thelma’s love held together a large and close family, which was her greatest joy. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their children brought many smiles to her angelic face.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle; her daughter, Carolyn; her sister, Twyla; her son-in-law, Keith; and her parents.

A celebration of life will occur when our world is a safer place to gather together to remember a very special woman. There will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to give in Thelma’s name, the Waukee Area Christian Services has a food pantry that was her charitable focus in the last few years.
