Paul Potter Welch

Paul Welch (84) of Gainesville, VA passed peacefully on December 30, 2021 from a long-term illness and pneumonia.

Paul was a 1955 graduate of Winterset high-school in Winterset, IA. He earned his undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University.

Paul spent over forty plus years in the industrial electric control industry working for such firms as: Cutler-Hammer, Honeywell, Furnas Electric, and finally retiring from Siemens Electric as a Vice President of Sales. Paul also thoroughly enjoyed recreational boating and fishing.

He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Paul is survived by his two daughters: Trisha (Mike) Dailey of Gainesville, VA and Lori (Dave)-Schock of Hampshire, IL and his two grandsons, Christopher M. Dailey, and Jonathan P. Dailey. Paul was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie J. Welch.

No events are scheduled. In lieu of a memorial service, we ask family and friends to join in a virtual memorial by lighting a candle at 8 p.m. EST on January 23, 2022 (Paul's birthday) with the family as well as consider a donation to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mr. Paul P. Welch.

Transcriber's Note: Paul Potter Welch was the son of Roland S. Welch and Betty Potter Welch, long time residents of Madison County, IA. Paul's wife was Marjorie Anderson.
