On Jan. 31, 1933. Phillip Wayne Dick was born to Dailen and Helen (Vance) Dick in Winterset, Iowa. Although his dad moved his family when my daddy was 12, a huge part of Daddy’s heart remained in Winterset with his goats, and friends! All my growing up years I heard stories of Clark’s Tower, Miller’s Pond, ice skating on Middle River, First Christian Church, City Park, Town Square Breeding’s Hardware Store, building a tree house with his friends---all of which were very much alive in his heart! We had the honor of taking Daddy back to visit in 2002, where we drove in town and he knew exactly where everything was. It was amazing! We even climbed Clark’s Tower and ate lunch on top. He was a kind and amazing man. Anyone who met him has been richly blessed.

He was married to my momma Jenita, for 70 years. They have four children, 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

As one of his 8-year-old great-grandsons said to me the day he left us. “It’s hard to have someone you love go to heaven. He was so beautiful!” How very true. To truly celebrate his life and the man he was, the love and wisdom he left with us, is to rejoice that OUR Daddy is finally healed and safely home with Jesus! He went to his forever home on Dec. 21, 2021.
