Lyman C. McKee, 95, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Des Moines, passed away at The Summit at Sunland Springs on Dec. 14, 2021, due to complications of dementia. Lyman was born in Macksburg, Iowa, and worked for Meredith Publishing for 31 years before moving to Mesa and purchasing Scott Blueprint.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Mabel McKee; four brothers; one sister; and several nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Lola; and children, Beth (Stan) Houlette of New Virginia, Paul (Debra) McKee of Mesa, Ariz., Sarah McKee (Jim Mitchell) of Gardnerville, Nev., and Madalyn (CE) Evans of Des Moines; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by brother, Larry (Ivy) McKee; sisters, Maxine Anderson, Afada (Dwight) Silverthorn, Iola (Marvin) Chickering, and Carlotta (Ken) Wilcox; sister-in-law, Donna McKee; and many nieces and nephews.

Burial with military rites will be held in April 2022 in Mesa, Ariz. Memorials may be given to GraceWorksGlobal.org or mailed to Grace-Works Global, PO Box 2099, Payson, AZ 85547.

Arrangements are being handled by Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery in Chandler, Ariz.
