Last Rites Held For Peru Woman

Mrs. Deverne Frederickson died at her home in Peru Saturday afternoon, following an illness of three months duration. She had been a patient in the Winterset hospital and was later transferred to the University hospital in Iowa City Where she underwent an operation.

She was brought home on November 15 and her condition grew steadily worse. Mrs. Frederickson was the former Lela Fowler of St. Charles and taught several years in the rural schools.

She is survived by her husband, three children, Mrs. David Campbell of California, Callie Lou and Gleason at home and her mother.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Peru Methodist church conducted by the Rev. J. H. Machlan. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.

Lela F. Fowler Fredrickson was born April 28, 1901 at Woodburn, Iowa, and died at her home in Peru, November 22, 1941, following an illness of several months. She was the only child of Laura and George Fowler. Her girlhood days were spent in St. Charles which was her home until her marriage to DeVerne Fredrickson on October 27, 1923.

At the age of 15 she united with the Methodist church in St. Charles under the pastorate of Rev. A. E. George. She leaves her husband, three children, Mrs. Barbara Campbell of Salinas, California; Gleason and Callie Lou both at home and her mother, Mrs. Laura Fowler, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Peru on Monday, November 24, conducted by the Rev. J. H. Machlan. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
