Mrs. P. M. Shoop, formerly of this place, died last Sunday at her home in Abingdon, Ill. Her daughter, Mrs. S. E. Catterlin, left here for Abingdon the early part of the week, and was with her mother during the last days of her life.

Mrs. Shoop has been in feeble health for some time, and especially so since the death of her husband which occurred less than a year ago. Mrs. Catterlin will remain for a few weeks at the old home, now soon to be broken up by the death of the parents.

Transcriber's note: This is the wife of Phillip M. Shoop. Census records show that the Shoops came to Madison county in the early 1880s and stayed perhaps 10 years before returning to Illinois. Phillip Shoop was a grocer.
