D. D. Drake died Saturday evening (January 6, 1900). Funeral from residence Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Nolte. A wife, sister and adopted son are left to mourn; the sympathy of friends is with them in their bereavement. Mr Drake had been a great sufferer for several years, was an old resident of Walnut township, coming here in 1852, when only twenty-one years old, and casting his first vote here. He was sixty-eight years old and had been a member of the M. E. church since boyhood, and died rejoicing that his heavenly home was so near.
