William Irvin Harris was born in Marion County, Indiana, May 16, 1833, and at the time of his death, January 3, 1900, was 66 years, 7 months, and 17 days of age. He removed to Madison County, Iowa in the fall of 1853, and has resided here until the time of his death. Some twenty years ago he was converted and united with the Church of Christ and lived a consistent Christian life to the time of his death. He leaves a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn his death. The funeral services were conducted at Bethany church by Rev. Nichols, of the Church of Christ, after which the remains were interred in the Hamblin cemetery.

W. I. Harris, an old and respected resident, of Monroe township, died at his home Wednesday evening. The funeral will be held tomorrow (Friday) at eleven o’clock at Bethany church.

Died, Wednesday evening, January 3, 1900, Mr. Irv Harris, at his home in Monroe township. Mr. Harris was born May 16, 1833, in Merriam county, Indiana, where he grew to manhood. Moved with his father and other relatives to Madison county about thirty-five years ago.
In the passing away of this noble Christian man this community has not only lost one of its most prominent members but an active and efficient member in religious, moral and reformatory movements.
Mr. Harris was converted and united with the Christian church about twenty years ago.
His death has cast a gloom over the entire community and has left a void which cannot soon be filled.
The funeral services occurred Friday at 11 a.m. at the Bethany church, conducted by Rev. Nickel of Kasson, pastor of the Christian church, assisted by Rev. Eaton of Des Moines, and Rev. McCracken.
The choir services was very beautifully rendered. A very large procession followed the beloved remains to the Hamblin cemetery.
