Services for Fred B. Hess, 55, of 905 Wade Ave., will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, of which he was a member, with burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, near Cumming.

Mr. Hess, who died Saturday at his home of a heart attack, was a lifelong resident of Des Moines. He is survived by his widow, Wilma; four daughters; four sons; his father, Joe of Booneville; a brother and seven grandchildren.

The rosary will be recited at 8 o’clock tonight at Dunn’s Funeral Home on S.W. Ninth Street.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Catholic Church for Fred B. Hess, 55, of 905 Wade Ave., who died Saturday at his home of a heart attack. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

A lifelong resident of Des Moines, he was a mechanic for the Metropolitan Transit Authority. He was active in Boy Scout work and was a member of Christ the King Church, the church’s Holy Name Society, Moose Lodge 441 and the Amalgamated Transit Authority. He served in the Merchant Marine in World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Enos, Mrs. Sandra McCormick and Deanna Hess, all of Des Moines, and Mrs. Pat Williams of Detroit, Mich.; four sons, Fred, stationed with the Navy in Hawaii, Joseph at the Naval Air Station in Memphis, Tenn., Thomas with the Army in Washington, D.C., and Robert of Fort Riley, Kan.; his father, Joe of Booneville; a brother, Bernard of Booneville; and seven grandchildren.
