WATERLOO—Francis M. “Fritz” Flammang, 68, of Council Bluffs, formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital, Hastings, Neb., of natural causes.
He was born July 10, 1931, in Hastings, son of John J. and Anna Consbruck Flammang. He married Shirlee Elbert on Feb. 26, 1951.
Mr. Flammang was employed in a management position for Prudential Insurance Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1987. He also taught life underwriting training and was in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Jody Watts of Norwalk; a son, Doug of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren; and two brothers, Donald of Des Moines and Bernard of Orange, Calif.
Memorial services at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. There will be a 4:30 p.m. wake service today at Beem Belford Funeral Home, Council Bluffs.
