Lewis W. Overton, 68, of 3100 Maury St. died of cancer Tuesday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, with burial in Wight Cemetery near Winterset.

Mr. Overton was born in Orient and lived in Palo Alto, Calif. He lived in Des Moines 27 years and was a retired employee at the City Greenhouse. Mr. Overton was a member of Municipal Workers Union Local 353.

He is survived by his wife, Bernadine, and a sister, Truie Low of Des Moines.
