Page 5, Column 5Death of Mrs. Catherine Davis
Funeral services were held last week for Mrs. Catherine Davis, one of the long time residents of Madison county, living in the Kasson neighborhood.
Mrs. Davis was born in Germany January 13, 1842 and died at the age of eighty-eight. Her parents came to this country when she was eleven years old.
Her marriage to Jacob Davis took place in Hagerstown, Maryland, in 1859. In 1890 the family came to Iowa and in 1901 to Madison county. Her children who live in the county are Mrs. Mary Detrick of Winterset; George Davis at home; Fred Davis, Anna C. Kingery, Benjamin Davis and Hattie Reed of Lorimor.
