John Goodson, of Van Meter, passed away suddenly at his home Thursday, September 25, at the age of 75 years.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 29 at the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Van Meter with Rev. Clyde Sparks officiating. Robert G. Fisher was soloist accompanied by Mrs. Dennis Young. Casket bearers were Art Van Buren, Lloyd McNair, Cass Green, Martin Pritchard, Eric Goodson and Virgil Palmer. Military service was by American Legion Post 464 of Van Meter. Burial was at the Thornton Cemetery.
Mr. Goodson was preceded in death by his wife in January of this year. He is survived by seven children: James E., Van Meter; Betty Burger, Waukee; Louise Nelson, Polk City; Carl D., Truro; Luetta Ray of Lytle Creek, Calif.; Bernice Hupp and Junior L., both of Adel.
